As proud members of the Family First Nurseries Group, we share a commitment to nurturing more than just young minds. We strive to cultivate compassion, empathy, and a strong sense of community. Our Magic of Giving campaign, launched in late 2024, went beyond being a festive initiative, it was a heartfelt journey into the joy of giving back and a testament to the power of kindness.
Teaching the Joy of Giving at our Nursery Schools
Throughout the campaign, our nurseries embraced opportunities to teach children about kindness and generosity. From performing plays for care home residents to collecting donations for food banks, the children learned how simple actions could bring smiles to others.
These moments remind us why our approach to early years education is so special. We strive to instil not only a love for learning but also to nurture the values that shape kind, compassionate individuals.
Acts of Kindness That Inspire
Our teams and families went above and beyond to make the campaign a success. From hot chocolate sales and fundraising events to auctioning children’s artwork, every act was filled with love and creativity. Together, we raised thousands of pounds for charities across the country, while food and toy donations reached those in need.
Daanya, a member of our support team, shared her experience delivering donated toys to one of our nurseries,
Seeing the children’s faces light up as we wrapped gifts together was magical. Knowing those gifts would bring joy to families in need made it even more special.”

Nursery teams also took their commitment further, with staff volunteering as grocery assistants, donating Secret Santa gifts, and even buying presents for children who might not otherwise have received one.
Take a look at some of the highlights in the video below to see how small acts of kindness made a big impact in our communities.
Nursery Community Involvement
The campaign also inspired families to share their own acts of kindness, and the response was overwhelming. Their stories showcased the true power of compassion.
One family shared how they contributed to a local hospice:
“We made charity hampers and baked treats to raise money for a local hospice. It was a wonderful way to teach our children the value of helping others.”
One food bank in Maldon, Essex, expressed their gratitude:
“We cannot believe how generous you have been. Your families have helped so many more, and it’s exactly what Christmas should be about.”
We are incredibly grateful to our parents, nursery teams, and communities for coming together to make this campaign so impactful. Their generosity has touched countless lives.

Through these acts of kindness, we not only taught children the power of compassion but also extended support to families in need, reflecting the very heart of our ‘Family First’ ethos.
